He is one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, and is known for his revolutionary Cubist style of painting.
Picasso was not only a genius with a paintbrush, he was also a ladies’ man. Over the course of his life, Picasso had many muses and mistresses, one of whom was Françoise Gilot. Gilot was a French artist and author, who is best known for her relationship with Picasso. She is also the mother of Picasso’s two children, Claude and Paloma.
Gilot met Picasso in 1943, when she was just 21 years old and he was 62. At the time, Picasso was married to Olga Khokhlova, a ballerina 20 years his younger. However, Picasso and Khokhlova had been estranged for years, and Picasso was already involved with Marie-Thérèse Walter, a young woman who was closer in age to Gilot.
