It is critical that we destigmatize mental illness and remember that those who suffer from it are just like everyone else, deserving of treatment and compassion.
The implication here is that Daisy was not a virgin when she slept with Gatsby. This is supported by the fact that there is no mention of her losing her virginity when they slept together.
